⬥ Shore comes from an original take on "The Little Mermaid," where her merperson clan is both ancient (dating back to Atlantis) and has the ability to see the future due to special Inclusions they grow on their body (positions and styles vary). Shore has an abnormality, though -- instead of only seeing the future of her reality, she can have contradicting visions compared to others, meaning she can see the future of differing planes and timelines. As she grew older, the visions became more and more distorted, showing her the future and happenings of horrifying, Eldritch-reminiscent dimensions that became increasingly more and more difficult to bear. She decided to remove her Inclusion, which both diminished her visions, but also revoked her status as a merperson. She washed up on a deserted beach, sprouting new legs and lungs, as well as a brand new eye to take the place of her Inclusion. However, a small piece of the Inclusion wass left inside of her head, attached to her optic nerve and that can at times cause immense pain. Her visions aren't long and so much prophetic now, as they are flashes of frequent possibilities that may have to do with her current world, or maybe a different galaxy altogether. A woman found her naked on the beach and took her to a shelter, but other than a change of clothes and a cot, they didn't provide her with much. Shore (a name provided to her by said woman) is somewhat familiar with human practices (she's essentially in a modern world now), but actually putting them into context and fully comprehending technology is a struggle for now.

⬥ Originally, Shore had some trepidation about not being a mermaid, but she's discovered that the human world is really fun...and she wants to be fun too! She's naive and not totally sure of herself or what to do in the world, but for now it's fun to just experience people and new things, which she wants to do in spades. Shore has some doubts about her purpose and how to live a fully functioning life amid a society brimming with #SocialNorms and #Capitalism, which means she doesn't have a great grasp on what is an isn't appropriate to some people, as well as lacks a concept of value of things. However, Shore can also have jags of depression and isolationist tendencies because of PTSD related to her visions and what she may see within them.
